"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

James 2 v 14 -17

The Trust has responded to the following appeals for emergency funding:

Balkan Crisis Appeal

In 1999, the rapidly evolving refugee crisis in the Balkans displaced half of Kosovo’s population (some 1.8 million people) and nearly 700,000 refugees fled to Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro. Arriving totally exhausted and traumatised, they were in urgent need of shelter, food and water and proper sanitation.

Central America Appeal

In 1998, Hurricane Mitch caused devastation in Central America. It was estimated that more than 11,000 people died, 18,000 were missing and over 3 million were severely affected by the devastation and havoc caused by the hurricane, which destroyed roads, bridges, homes and harvests over a large area.

Southern Sudan Appeal

Also in 1998, the world was shocked to learn of the harrowing news coverage from southern Sudan, where years of civil war together with the recent crop failure left an estimated 700,000 people facing starvation.
